A Little Annalyn

I wanted to take a little time to tell a few things about our little Annalyn. She is growing so quickly and she is so funny. We have had a milestone with her as well. At the beginning of January she was pretty sick with a stomach bug and the day after she had gotten over the messy stuff she brought me a pair of Abigail's panties and said "Mom, no diaper, panies" I wasn't planning on starting her for another couple months but figured she was telling me, so it had to be done. I have never liked potty training, I tend to get a little anxious and easily frustrated. But, I am so glad that it is over with and now I don't have to worry this summer...woohoo.

She is talking more and more and has a little sense of humor that has sent us all into side splitting laughter. She is so calm and mild mannered that when she says something she knows will get a laugh it makes it all the more funny. One of the things she likes to do is when we try to blame her for something or talk about her she says this phrase that is so hard to describe in words: She raises both her eyebrows and puts her hand over her heart and raises her voice a decibel higher and says "Huh? Mmmmmeeee, Annalyn?" Then lowers her voice really low and says "Nooooo."

Lately when she sees things she is scared of she covers her ears. I laugh so hard because she is still seeing the scary mascot at Red Robin, and the darn thing doesn't talk so why the ears, I have no idea.

My favorite words she says: Slippies for Slippers and Lippies for Lipstick

We also like to sing a few songs with her and make her finish it. Abigail: "I like to move it move it, she likes to move it move it, we like to...." Annalyn "MOOD IT"

Some of the words she says sounds like she has a British accent: Daddy, hurt, room, foot, pillow and occasionally a new one.

She loves to dance while she is watching dancing with the stars and plays a "wii game" with Abigail that makes us laugh so hard (we don't have a wii, they mimic what they have seen, I have got to get it on video to get the idea).

She also, with out fail, whenever you pick her up she goes immediately goes for the ear lobes and pinches them as hard as she can and laughs like the Porky Pig cartoon character! We have to get that on video too. It started when she would do it to the dog and we would laugh and laugh and then she only did it to me, every time I held her and then Bart and Abigail wanted to get in on the action so they asked her to get their ears.

She also loves to point out in picture books animals and characters and say which one is Mommy, which one is Abigail and which one is "Me, Annalyn" and she laughs and laughs. It takes us twice as long to read books because she has to tell us who's who. But now she has moved on to real people. The other night we went to a Multicultural Night at Abigail's school and they had a couple of little Irish dancers and the entire performance she would yell, "yeah, Annalyn and Abi, Momma look me Annalyn and Abi, yeah" and would clap so hard and then get even more excited when they would come out again. Then at one point the director of the dances asked if there were any questions and Annalyn popped her hand up and she pointed and said "yes" at first I didn't realize she was pointing to us and then the director said to me, "does she have a question?" I told her no that she just really likes the performance.

That is another thing. Annalyn always is mistaken for being older than she is. I think it's because she is as tall as most three year olds and has hair of most 4 year olds.
